Jet Blue Employee Becomes Overnight Hero

Jet Blue Employee Becomes Overnight Hero
If you haven’t heard the story yet, well it’s like something out of a movie, something I think we’ve all thought about doing at some point, and something that has turned one former Jet Blue employee into somewhat of an overnight celebrity.
According to a post on ChicagoPride:
On Monday, [flight attendant Steven] Slater lost his temper with an obnoxious passenger who pulled a bag out of an overhead bin when she wasn’t supposed to and ended up hitting him on the head.
He got on the intercom and said, “To the passenger who called me a m—f–er, f— you!”
Then he grabbed beer from the snack cart, activated the emergency exit slide, and jumped out.
The New York Daily News reported that he tore off his Jetblue tie as he walked to his car, and went home to have sex with his boyfriend, beers in hand.
Also according to the post, after being released from jail yesterday, Slater stated:
“I think something about this resonated with people. The outpouring of support is very appreciated. I’m overwhelmed, very thankful. it’s been a good time.”
And yes, it would appear that Slater has become somewhat of a working man’s hero as those outside waiting to greet him as he left the jail shouted, “We love you” and “You’re a hero.”
It looks like they’re not the only one’s either as he’s reached an amazing 100,000 fans on hisFacebook page and has caught the attention of bloggers like Lyndon Evans of Focus On The Rainbow who had this to say about the episode:
God Bless America, the Rainbow Flag and Steven Slater !
Well, it may be short lived fame, but for a hot minute, I think a lot of us can live vicariously through Slater and his actions.
