Openly gay Jane Lynch, Eric Stonestreet, who plays gay, and the

Recently married Jane Lynch thanked her wife in accepting an Emmy
for her portrayal of sharp tongued coach Sue Sylvester on the Fox

Stonestreet, who plays gay dad Cameron on ABC's Modern Family, said
he would take his Emmy for best supporting actor in a comedy to his
parent's house in Kansas City.

Controversy surrounding the lack of a gay kiss on the show didn't stop
the Sunday night comedy from winning best comedy. Modern Family
edged out Glee, the clear favorite of critics, to win the award.

Gay-dad-to-be Neil Patrick Harris, who lost his bid at a third Emmy,
joked that he was happy to see a gay man had followed him in hosting
the show: “I'd like to thank the academy for allowing a gay man to host
the show two years in a row. Congratulations Jimmy [Fallon], you're
doing a great job!”
