Matthew Sheppard Remains Finally Find A Place To Rest

National Cathedral on Friday.

It took decades to find a safe place for the remains of Matthew Shepard, whose murder in 1998 as a 21-year-old college student turned him into a symbol of violence against gay people.
But rest finally found him on Friday during a ceremony of prayer, speeches and hymns at the Washington National Cathedral, the neo-Gothic, Episcopal house of worship that is a fixture of American politics and religion in Washington.
His father, Dennis Shepard, said last month that the cathedral was an appropriate place for his son, who was once an altar boy in the Episcopal Church, to be buried, and one that he would have loved.
Mr. Shepard; his wife, Judy Shepard; and their two children watched as the urn bearing Matthew’s ashes was conveyed down the aisle in a candlelit procession.

A single flute played “Morning Has Broken.”
“It is so important that we now have a home for Matt,” said Mr. Shepard, addressing the congregation. “A home that others can visit. A home that is safe from haters.”
Attendees, some of them weeping, filled the pews as Mr. Shepard spoke during the ceremony, which lasted more than an hour and was broadcast live on national television. The pews appeared almost filled to capacity in the 2,300-seat nave of the cathedral.

Mr. Shepard’s remains were later interred in the crypt, according to Kevin Eckstrom, a spokesman for the cathedral.
In 1998, Matthew Shepard, a gay student at the University of Wyoming, was robbed by two men, pistol-whipped and tied to a fence in Laramie, Wyo., where he hung bleeding in the cold until a passing bicyclist spotted him. He later died in a hospital.

Mourners flocked to his funeral in Casper, Wyo., but so did protesters carrying derogatory signs.
His parents wrestled with a location for a burial after that, fearing it would be at risk of desecration. The family had considered other options, including spreading his ashes over the mountains and plains of Wyoming. But they settled on the cathedral because they wanted a place they could visit to talk to him.
And that is what his father during his speech on Friday encouraged others to do.
“Matt was blind just like this beautiful house of worship,” Dennis Shepard said. “He did not see skin color. He did not see religion. He did not see sexual orientation. All he saw was a chance to have another friend. Just like this beautiful home we have here right now.”
He thanked those gathering for “helping us take Matt home.”
Mr. Shepard and others who addressed the congregation emphasized that the cathedral was an inclusive, accepting place, whether they were religious or not, and regardless of their sexual orientation.
Rev. V. Gene Robinson, who became the first openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church in 2003 but has since retired, gave the homily.
“If you close your eyes and open your hearts, Matt is right here,” he said. Then later, weeping, he said there were three things he wanted to say to Matthew:
“Gently rest in this place. You are safe now. Oh yeah, and Matt, welcome home. Amen.”
Bishop Robinson had been working with Mr. Shepard’s parents on issues affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people for years. When Judy Shepard asked him about the possibility of interring her son’s ashes at the cathedral, he said, he helped to make it happen.

On Friday in his homily, the bishop said he had been crying for a week. He praised Mr. Shepard’s parents for not just grieving privately but for turning his killing, “this horrendous event,” into “something good.”

Bishop Robinson also referred to other victims of hate crimes, recalling James Byrd Jr., a black man who was dragged to death behind a pickup truck in Texas by white supremacists in 1998. Bishop Robinson noted that Mr. Shepard’s name was included on a law in 2009that expanded the definition of violent federal hate crimes to include those committed because of a victim’s sexual orientation.
He urged people to remember the “bigger picture,” and the dangers of labeling others as “different from ourselves, which is code for not really human, and then you can do anything to them that you like.”
“People of color know that. The L.G.B.T.Q. community knows that,” he added. “And we are seeing way too much of that at the moment.”
The ceremony came days after The New York Times reported that the Trump administration is considering narrowly defining gender as a biological, immutable condition determined by genitalia at birth, the most drastic move yet in rolling back recognition and protections of transgender people under federal civil rights law.
“Violence takes lots of forms, and right now the transgender community is the target,” Bishop Robinson said. “There are forces about who would erase them in America. Deny them the right they have to define themselves.”
“And they need us to stand with them,” he said.
Mariann Edgar Budde, the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, told the gathering that 20 years of mourning was not enough for someone who is loved.
“Nor can 20 years heal the grief of such a loss,” she said.

Asia Argento Denies Sex Child Allegation but Confirms a Payment Was Made by Anthony Bourdain to Bennett

The Italian actress, who was one of the first to publicly accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, responds to a report that she allegedly paid off her own sexual assault accuser.

Asia Argento on Tuesday morning denied that she ever had a sexual relationship with an underage male in response to a Sunday New York Times report.
The Italian actress, who was one of the first to publicly accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, was accused of secretly paying off a young male actor who accused her of sexual misconduct in the months after her revelations about the disgraced movie mogul.
Argento said the assault never happened. However, she did say a payment was made to child actor Jimmy Bennett by her then-boyfriend, the late Anthony Bourdain, so Bennett would stop harassing them.
"I am deeply shocked and hurt having read the news that is absolutely false," she said in a statement obtained by journalist Yashar Ali. "I have never had any sexual relationship with Bennett."
Argento says Bennett tried to extort her. And rather than having a long, drawn-out battle in the press amid the Weinstein scandal, it was Bourdain who said a payment would be made in order to make the situation disappear, she said.
"This is, therefore, the umpteenth development of a sequence of events that brings me great sadness and that constitutes a long-standing persecution," Argento continued in the statement. "I have therefore no other choice but to oppose such false allegations and will assume in the short term all necessary initiatives for my protection before all competent venues."
Now 22, Bennett was a prolific child actor and notably starred as a young James T. Kirk in the 2009 Star Trek reboot. He also had roles in PoseidonEvan Almighty and Firewall. Argento and Bennett co-starred in 2004's The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, which Argento wrote and directed. Bennett played Argento's son.
Read Argento's full statement below:
I strongly deny and oppose the contents of the New York Times article dated 20 August 2018, as circulated also in national and international news.
I am deeply shocked and hurt by having read news that is absolutely false. I have never had any sexual relationship with Bennett.
I was linked to him during several years by friendship only, which ended when, subsequent to my exposure in the Weinstein case, Bennett — who was then undergoing severe economic problems and who had previously undertaken legal actions against his own family requesting millions in damages — unexpectedly made an exorbitant request of money from me. Bennett knew my boyfriend, Anthony Bourdain, was a man of great perceived wealth and had his own reputation as a beloved public figure to protect.
Antony [sic] insisted the matter be handled privately and this was also what Bennett wanted. Anthony was afraid of the possible negative publicity that such person, whom he considered dangerous, could have brought upon us. We decided to deal compassionately with Bennett's demand for help and give it to him. Anthony personally undertook to help Bennett economically, upon the condition that we would  no longer suffer any further intrusions in our life.
This is, therefore, the umpteenth development of a sequence of events that brings me great sadness and that constitutes a long-standing persecution. I have therefore no other choice but to oppose such false allegations and will assume in the short term all necessary initiatives for my protection before all competent venues.

Bye Billy Bush You Are Fired

“I know we've all been deeply troubled by the revelations of the past 48 hours,” said “Today” executive producer Noah Oppenheim in a memo to staffers. “Let me be clear — there is simply no excuse for Billy’s language and behavior on that tape, NBC has decided to suspend Billy, pending further review of this matter.”
NBC News executives initially said Saturday that there are no plans to suspend or fire Bush over the leaked conversation that took place before he and Trump taped a 2005 segment for “Access Hollywood.”
But the situation now appears to be fluid. One person associated with the program who is not authorized to comment publicly said it’s possible that NBC News lawyers are working on an exit agreement for Bush, who recently signed a new deal to make him a part of the “Today” family.
The exchange, in which Trump profanely boasts about his ability to grope women with impunity because he is a celebrity, has led many Republican politicians to withdraw their support of him as the party’s presidential standard-bearer. Many called for him to step down. Trump issued a videotaped apology late Friday night for the remarks and has said he has no plans to drop out of the race. He meets Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in their second debate on Sunday night.
In the leaked video Bush is heard laughing and egging Trump on, even as the mogul revealed his attempt to seduce Bush’s “Access Hollywood” co-host Nancy O’Dell. He delivered his own apology Friday.
"Obviously I'm embarrassed and ashamed,” Bush, 44, said in a statement issued by NBC News. “It's no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I'm very sorry.”
But as the story continues to the engulf the campaign, Bush is now indelibly attached to it. On ABC’s “This Week,” Republican Rep. Charlie Dent of Pennsylvania referred to the tape as “the Billy Bush video.”
Bush’s involvement has turned into a major problem as morning-show audiences are not always forgiving. Harsh comments from “Today” fans appeared on the program’s Facebook page, many calling for his firing.
“They will no longer receive my ratings or buying power when they have this guy as a host,” wrote Elizabeth Fahy of Cranford, N.J. “He is disgracing the women and daughters he wants to watch him. Count me out for now, ‘Today,’ until Billy Bush is gone as a host.”
After 12 years as co-host of “Access,”  Bush moved his family from Los Angeles to New York City to join “Today” in August.
Bush’s arrival led to speculation that he is being groomed to eventually succeed long-time “Today” stalwart Matt Lauer, who has been in the 7 to 9 a.m. co-anchor chair since 1997.
Bush’s misogynistic repartee with Trump will likely put that job out of his reach.
NBC News uses the third hour of “Today” to develop talent that can eventually take over the earlier hours when more viewers are watching.

NBC News executives were not overly concerned about Bush’s presence on the tape with Trump when it was first reported by the Washington Post on Friday. But the story escalated Saturday, sending “Today” staffers looking for answers on Bush’s status and how the controversy will be addressed on the program.
Reaction to Bush’s vulgar comments cannot be taken lightly as “Today” has had issues with female viewers in the past.
After Ann Curry tearfully left the show after 13 months as co-anchor, many press accounts portrayed Lauer as being behind her ouster. The narrative led many viewers to tune out, ending  “Today’s” 16-year reign as the most watched morning program.

New Gay TV Shows

selfie San Francisco Russell Tovey Nudie Looking HBO Gay Dramedy Series Russell Tovey, best known in the UK as the werewolf George Sands on the BBC’s hit supernatural drama, Being Human, has been signed on to play a recurring role in Looking, HBO’s upcoming half-hour dramedy concerning the lives of a group of gay men living in San Francisco.

HBO is looking to bring more gay themed shows and believe you me we NEED them. Not just on HBO but non cable networks. How many times we ache to see shows that we can really identify with just like straights do? Now that gay marriage is gone main stream is time for dividends like opening the curtains on gay characters and their lives.

Not much different from straights but some of us are tired of falling in love with the guy who is in love with the girl. We wish for the characters to be of the same sex. It can only make more money for the industry and I suppose that’s good for them. I am tired of document tarries and movies that show the stereotype. We can always life at ourselves but our lives are not full of laughter 24/7 nor full sickness and discrimination all the time. Most of the time we do what most human being do.  Try to keep busy, try to make an income and try to love someone or something.
HBO is bringing a couple of new shows. One of them is called

Looking  which is about a group of gay friends living in modern-day San Francisco, looking to connect, looking for love, and living their lives.
So says actor Jonathan Groff, who plays Patrick in the new TV comedy/drama, which will premiere on US cable channel HBO in January.

Showing the lives and loves of three men in their 30s, the show will also star British actorRussell Tovey, who’s best known as a werewolf character in the BBC’s Being HumanThe first episode will be directed by Andrew Haigh, who also directed the filmWeekend.
A trailer and behind-the-scenes clip have been posted on Utube, with critics having high hopes for the show in presenting both a realistic and entertaining look at how gay men live their lives, handle their careers, and search for love and lust.

Our Favorite Scientology Top Man, Tom Cruise Seems To Have Found A Younger Replacement to Katie Holmes

Age Gap Dating

Hollywood’s rumor mill is in full swing once again. Tom Cruise, 51, is reportedly on the hunt for a new younger woman to replace his ex-wife, Katie Holmes, and he’s got his sights set on Jessica White, a 29-year-old Sports Illustrated model who has everything he’s looking for.
Cruise’s reputation took a hit after Holmes unexpectedly ended their marriage, and according to sources, he’s hoping being with a hot, younger woman will help lift his celebrity appeal. “He’s not used to being alone and believes that appearing to be a failure in the love department lessens his star power,” said a mysterious insider, adding, “Tom is sensitive about being over the hill and thinks a younger woman will make him more relevant with a younger audience.”
We’ll be the first to admit that this rumor seems a little out there. But if you really think about it, the prospect of Cruise and White as the next big celebrity couple really isn’t as farfetched as it sounds. Let’s look at the facts.
Aside from the obvious fact that White is a young, beautiful woman, she has also recently been showing a lot of interest in Scientology, the controversial faith that came between Cruise and Holmes—Cruise is still one of the religion’s most devout celebrity followers. If White does become a full-fledged Scientologist, she already meets the basic criteria for a future wife.
Their 22-year age difference wouldn’t be an issue either, because White is no stranger to dating older men—she used to date actor Sean Penn, who is 23 years older than her, and football player Terrell Owens, who’s 10 years older.
What do you think: Would Tom Cruise and Jessica White make a good couple, or would it just be a recipe for disaster?

Rob Kardashian Law Suit for Assaulting Paparazzo on Dispute

Rob Kardashian has been slapped with a lawsuit by a female photographer who claims he assaulted her last month.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, a paparazzo namedAndra Vaik alleged that the reality star stole her camera’s memory card after she snapped shirtless photos of him outside a Los Angeles gym.
She filed a robbery report with police, but now claims Kardashian attacked her as well.
“While this case is still in the preliminary stage, it is clear from our investigation that Robert Kardashian’s violent behavior and his use of force towards Ms. Vaik was completely unjustified,” her lawyer tells TMZ.
Kardashian hasn’t publicly commented on the ongoing dispute, but sources close to him have maintained that the photograph was trespassing on private property.

Piggy Pig Kim Jong Flickr Account Hacked

Hackers apparently broke into at least two of North Korea’s government-run online sites Thursday, as tensions rose on the Korean Peninsula.
The North’s Uriminzokkiri Twitter and Flickr accounts stopped sending out content typical of that posted by the regime in Pyongyang, such as photos of North’s leader Kim Jong Un meeting with military officials.
Instead, a picture posted Thursday on the North’s Flickr site shows Kim’s face with a pig-like snout and a drawing of Mickey Mouse on his chest. Underneath, the text reads: “Threatening world peace with ICBMs and Nuclear weapons/Wasting money while his people starve to death.”
couldn’t be confirmed, but the North’s official website did not open Thursday.
Tweets on the North’s Twitter account said “Hacked” followed by a link to North Korea-related websites. One tweet said “Tango Down” followed by a link to the North’s Flickr page.
North Korea opened its Twitter account in 2010. It has more than 13,000 followers. The North uses the social media to praise its system and leaders and also to repeat commentaries sent out by North’s official Korean Central News Agency.
Tensions have been high in recent days between North and South Korea, and the North’s military warned Thursday that it had been authorized to attack the U.S. North Korea is angry about sanctions against its nuclear program and joint military drills between the U.S. and South Korea.
