As an example, DOGE claims to have found Social Security loans going to 11-year-olds and under. Not! SBA is not a loan, it's a survivor benefit annuity to young children whose parents have passed. That's the problem with IT programmers and billionaires without a clue doing jobs they don't understand. You can't find what you don't know.
Kaufmann's claim spread across Facebook (archived), X (archived), Threads(archived), Reddit (archived) and Bluesky (archived).
However, it was unclear how Kaufmann backed his claim about the confusion over the two different SBAs. While it is almost certain from his wording that he was referring to DOGE's SBA loan announcement on March 9, the claim of the funding belonging to the survivor benefit annuity — a benefit paid to eligible spouses, or sometimes children, of federal retirees — clashes with what federal officials have said.
The Small Business Administration confirmed the existence of more than "5,500 loans, totaling about $312M" to businesses "whose only listed owner was 11 years old or younger" on March 12 — 10 days before Kaufmann's claim. DOGE had said it was working with the SBA to "solve this problem."
We have reached out to Kaufmann and the SBA to further understand the claim and await their replies.
A survivor benefit annuity is a benefit available to federal employees under the Civil Service Retirement System and the Federal Employees Retirement System. The benefit is normally paid to surviving spouses or ex-spouses, but according to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the federal government's central human-resources agency, children can be eligible if they are dependent on the retiree who chose the benefit. "Dependent" in this context means that the deceased "made regular and substantial contributions to the child's support."
We reached out to the OPM, which manages the federal retirement plans, to ask how much money it paid to children 11 or younger under this benefit in 2020-21, when DOGE said the loans were paid out, and await a reply.

Now that we have the facts it's easy to peel this orange. These people with the mandate to find money will find money because the federal government is services which cost money. Money is all over, the question is whose does it belong to? To those that pay or paid into the system wether they are alive or dead.
These space cadets saw the SS was paying to young babies and young kids under 11. Well nobody retires at 11 and why would a baby need social security? I hope you did not ask yourself those questions. These kids needed the money to live and have someone take care of them since they were orphans. That is just the answer. But these people have so much pressure put on them by themselves or Elon to justify their existence that they see the end but don't bother to reach out for the beginning. These are lazy and not educated on our system of government or anybody's system of government.
Elan ordered (illegally)the money be frozen. A judge put at halt on this but nobody knows the hurt and insecure urity this caused to beneficiaries under _SBA ( survivor Benefit Annuity_ but they still claimed which as I remember GOP law makers were saying the government was paying to dead PEOPLE and kids. If your parents die, they paid into the system and their airs under 18 in some cases up to 21 are suppose to get that money. When they have become adults they will get a job and contribute themselves.
Social Security does not cost the government anything. The have the funds accruing interest. Our payments together with our employers paid for our retirement. If you decided to go into the SS gov. site and see how much money you contributed and how much the government was paying out, is there. No need for calculators, at least that was the way it was.
What social security might need is an infusion of cash and it can be a loan to guarantee that today's kids have their social security with money on it. Republicans opposed when FDR wanted to Institute it Social Security. They lost but they have not given up. They can't stand people gettingetting money from the government that is not them or the families.
getting money from the government that doesn't go in their pockets or families pockets.
Why an American human being would decide to participate in a political party that opposes their own people is beyond me. That is the Grand Old Party GOP. It's old but is never been Grand for people that are not millionaires. Its never changed just it gotten worse.
