Next for Production of Fast and Furious & Why Autopsy Delayed

The cast was expected to return from a Thanksgiving hiatus on Sunday to resume shooting the film, but production will now be delayed as the actors grieve. Director James Wan and executives from Universal, the studio behind the franchise, held a conference call on Sunday to discuss whether rewrites were needed, according to THR. It's unclear whether the July 11 release date will be pushed.
Hollywood reacts to Paul Walker's death
Roughly half the film had finished shooting before Walker died Saturday in a fatal car accident in Santa Clarita, Calif. Walker and Roger Rodas, the CEO of Walker's company Always Evolving who was behind the wheel, were both killed in the accident that ended with the car engulfed in flames.
Although Wan said the film would not be scrapped, TMZ reports that production has several hurdles to overcome. In addition to the week's schedule including major scenes with Walker, most of the actors are reportedly too distraught to return to work. According to TMZ, Walker's co-star and friendTyrese Gibson visited the site of the crash on Sunday and was overcome with emotion.
Additionally, TMZ reports that autopsies on Walker and Rodas have been delayed until later this week because both bodies were burned beyond recognition, so the coroner must wait on dental records. tvguide.com
