Good Guy Adam Lambert to Join Cast of Glee
Former American Idol star Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee.
The news was revealed by series co-creator Ryan Murphy on his Twitter account.
He said: "I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall."
Since finishing as runner-up on American Idol in 2009 the 31-year-old has sung live with Queen and released two solo albums, For Your Entertainment and last year's Trespassing.
His second record went straight to the top of the US Billboard Hot 200, with Lambert becoming the first openly gay artist to top the chart.
The singer toured with Queen after meeting the band on American Idol when Brian May and Roger Taylor appeared as guests on the show.
It is unclear what role Adam Lambert will have on Glee and whether it will be as a series regular or a guest spot.
Writing on Twitter, cast member Lea Michele said: "Omg so excited that @adamlambert is going to be on #Glee this season! I hope he's with me in NYC! #GleeSeason5."
The fourth series of Glee was shown on Sky1 with the fifth season starting in September in the US.
