Nestor Berchot, One of Argentina's First Married Gays, Dies At His Own Wedding
Hairstylist Nestor Berchot was among Argentina's first gays to get married, after Congress and the president signed a bill into law in July. Filing paperwork with partner Adrian Garcia and becoming the southern city Mar del Plata City's first same-sex couple to get hitched, it makes Berchot's sudden death — at his own wedding reception — even more harrowing. After falling ill at the party, he was rushed to the hospital but was unable to be saved. He died this morning at 7am. As a married man.
