‘Target’ On TV Ads for Dirty Politics
It looks like the LGBT community isn’t the only group unhappy with Target for their political donations supporting Minnesota’s anti-gay GOP gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer.
According to a post on KARE 11:
The liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org unveiled a new TV ad Tuesday that encourages shoppers to boycott Target for making a controversial political donation.
Target donated $150,000 to MN Forward, a business group that is running ads that support Republican Tom Emmer. Thanks to a recent Supreme Court ruling, corporations can spend money on election campaigns.
“Target and other big corporations are trying to buy our elections,” says the ad, which will run for a week on three local TV stations and MSNBC starting Wednesday.
Target declined to comment on the ads.
