The Bishops which are appointed by the pope have always tried to follow what they though the pope wanted. In regards with
parishioners on what could be considered truly Roman Catholic, they adopted a more aggressive style of correction and telling abortion rights supporters to stay away from the sacrament of Communion and gays that they could not be members of the church as parishioners or priests.
I just saw Bishop Dolan on the news last night and he was asked about the about face of doctrine coming from the new Pope. Mr.Dolan could not have been more supportive of the old Pope. Bishop Dolan is a man that on another life most have a been the used car salesman of the year. I say that because with the same authority and certitude that he pushed that opposite statement from the past pope he was now defending what pope Francis had just said.
To advocate a position so strongly without any verbal restraints a few months before and now defending this new pope seemed to be beyond funny. To me it was fun to watch but not funny if i could make the difference. Fun because I could see his face turn different colors of red, more than usual. Im sure that the nightly holly booze had something to do with it but not all. Not funny because there are believers that take this boloney seriously.
They watch their Irish Bishop on their bar say what he used to say about gay marriage and being gay. That’s where the guy with the simple mind comes out of that bar and verbally or physically assaults the first person that he sees and think is gay. That’s where the funny becomes very serious.
He was defending the other pope because he wanted to impress Rome when time came for voting for the next pope. This pope he now defends because of the same reason. Truth, honesty, god has nothing to do with it. It’s called politics. In politics there is nothing right nothing wrong nothing indecent, there is just the politics of the issue at hand. Religion is always been full of politics and you don’t have to be anti religion to agree with that. There are elections on any small or big church, people get nominated and there are changes that many times go against common sense.
