More Publicity for Former Idol Glambert

More Publicity for Former Idol Glambert
Wow, this is really good.  I mean, think about it, we have some people in the music and film industry who tell artist to stay in the closet because it will hurt their careers, which typically leads them to be outed later in life by someone rather than being allowed to step forward and admit it.
It’s a sad state of affairs that people still view being gay as something bad and therefore has to be kept a secret.
That’s why I like Adam Lambert so much.  I’m not completely crazy about his music.  Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s fine and I don’t turn the station if I hear it on the radio, but it’s just not my cup of tea.
However, I do think it’s fantastic how he’s been able to bring ‘gay’ into the mainstream music industry.  People simply love Adam Lambert and really don’t seem to give a care if he’s gay or not.
According to a post on Chron.com, the ladies still swoon over Glambert, fully aware that he’s gay:
The two give each other playful, sideways glances when the inevitable question arises: Who is the bigger Glambert?
They pause, giggle, then Kinder shouts, “Me!”
“I’ll give it to her,” Merlin says. “I wouldn’t know Adam if it wasn’t for her.”
But this isn’t a pair of tweens, or even twentysomethings, vying for the title. Merlin, an IT whiz and self-published author, is 54. Kinder, a former collection bill coordinator, is 67.
Now if that’s not a sign the world is becoming more gay friendly, I’m not sure what is.
But of course, Lambert does still have his critics. But even with that (the exception perhaps being members of the Bible beating religious right) the brunt of criticism he receives isn’t about his sexuality!
According to a post on Culturemap Houston:
Gay or not gay, if you liked what Lambert brought to American Idol and you find the club singles like “Whataya Want From Me” and “For Your Entertainment” as addictive as Ho-Ho’s, than you will probably love the dance party spectacle that Lambert is bringing to the Hobby Center on Wednesday night … regardless of the over-inflated ticket price.
$52.50 (including taxes and fees)!!! Who does he think he is? Some superstar gay icon like Cher or Madonna?
Obviously someone hasn’t been to a concert in a while and is experiencing sticker shock.
Way to go Glambert! Thanks for being you. I don’t think your realize the good you’ve done for the LGBT community. Much more than your predecessor on the pottery wheel!
