Update on the Suicide Death of a Gay Youth

This is something that unfortunately seems to be a daily event. Yet another young member of the LGBT community has reportedly committed suicide, this time after a couple of his classmates secretly filmed him having sex and streamed it live online.

The New Jersey “Star-Ledger” is reporting that Tyler Clementi, an 18-year-old Rutgers student has been presumed dead after police found his car, cell phone and computer on the George Washington Bridge last week and have yet to discover a body.

Dharan Ravi, Clementi’s college roommate reportedly hid a video camera in their dorm room on September 19th and video recorded Clementi having sex with another man, and posted a live feed to the footage on the internet, directing traffic to the encounter using Twitter.

Ravi allegedly had an accomplice, a childhood friend by the name of Molly Wei. Both Ravi and Wei have been charged with two counts of invasion of privacy. Ravi has been released on $25,000 bail and Wei was released on her own recognizance. Both face up to five years in prison for distributing sexual images without consent.

As an update however, a body has been pulled from the river and the police are in the process of identifying the person who they believe to be Clementi. We have spoken to the owners ofJustUsBoys.com who believe a user who went by the name of cit2mo was actually Clementi. The dates and thread of the forum post match this tragic event and it would appear that cit2mo was seeking out advice from other JUB users as to what action, if any he should take any. Also JUB informs us that the IP address of cit2mo would indicate this user was indeed from Rutgers.

college roommate spying…..

so the other night i had a guy over. I had talked to my roommate that afternoon and he had said it would be fine w/him. I checked his twitter today. he tweeted that I was using the room (which is obnoxious enough), AND that he went into somebody else’s room and remotely turned on his webcam and saw me making out with a guy. given the angle of the webcam I can be confident that that was all he could have seen.

so my question is what next?

I could just be more careful next time…make sure to turn the cam away…
buttt…
I’m kinda pissed at him (rightfully so I think, no?)
and idk…if I could…it would be nice to get him in trouble
but idk if I have enough to get him in trouble, i mean…he never saw anything pornographic…he never recorded anything…

I feel like the only thing the school might do is find me another roommate, probably with me moving out…and i’d probably just end up with somebody worse than him….I mean aside from being an asshole from time to time, he’s a pretty decent roommate…

the other thing is I that don’t wanna report him and then end up with nothing happening except him getting pissed at me….
