No Gay Cupcakes!

An Indianapolis bakery has refused an order for gay cupcakes.
Students from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis
(IUPUI) claim the co-owner of Just Cookies inside the Indianapolis
City Market refused to sell them cupcakes for National Coming Out
Day, which is celebrated on October 11, Fox affiliate WIXN reported.
The students were first told they could not order cupcakes because
the bakery only sold cookies, but when the students asked for rainbow-
frosted cookies, they were told to go elsewhere.
“I explained we're a family-run business, we have two young,
impressionable daughters and we thought maybe it was best not do
that,” David Stockton, who owns the bakery with his wife, Lilly, told
a reporter.
Stockton then likened colorful cupcakes to something obscene.
“We have our values, and you know, some things … for instance, if
someone wants a cookie with an obscenity, well, we're not going to
sell that,” he said.
The students have placed their order with another bakery.
“I just hope that what comes out of this is that there's some dialogue
and discussion on what we value in our community, how we share those
values and how we interact with our community members,” said student
Rebecca Scherpelz.
