UN Chief Speaks Out Against Anti-Gay Laws
Earlier today at a United Nations human rights meeting in Geneva, the U.N. Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon from South Korea called on countries to repeal laws that discriminate against members of the LGBT community.
Ki-moon said that cultural concerns about sexual orientation do not justify discrimination. The comments were mainly directed at countries including African and Asian nations that currently outlaw same-sex relationships.
Ki-moons comments are considered by many to be heavy hitting being they came from one is such a high position, a sure sign that global acceptance of the LGBT community is gaining momentum
