It doesn't have to be this way: AMessage for LGTB & Friends
It doesn't have to be this way.
Dear friend, In a perfect world, people like Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack would treat all Americans the same. They wouldn't vote against gays and lesbians just to gain favor with extremists on the right. They'd listen to the American people and respect their deep sense of fairness. I know we don't live in that perfect world yet, but I was still shocked to learn that Bono Mack voted against the amendment to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Nearly 80% of Americans agree the ban is wrong and dangerous to our national security, but she still caved to pressure from right-wing ideologues. It doesn't have to be this way. The Victory Fund is helping my campaign to replace Bono Mack in the U.S. House of Representatives. They know I'll represent everyone in California's diverse 45th Congressional District, and they know I'll fight hard against the extremist politics that divide Americans against one another and continue to hold us back. This Tuesday dozens of openly gay and lesbian candidates backed by the Victory Fund will stand for election in primaries across California, Montana, Nevada, Iowa and Maine. These are the people who will speak for us and stand up to the extremists in state legislatures and local offices from coast to coast, in states both red and blue. But for them to win, we need you to do your part. Help all of these candidates with a generous contribution to the Victory Fund today, while you can still make a difference.
This work matters. It's changing our country and moving us toward a more perfect America. But my friends at the Victory Fund can't do it without your help. Can we count on you to help today? Yours, Steve Pougnet Victory Fund-endorsed candidate for U.S. House of Representatives |
