[Parents outrageous homophobia towards gay son sends social media into meltdown]
Outrageous comments made by a mum and dad about their gay Cambrigdeshire son have shocked and incensed the nation.
Rob, 38, and Simon, 31, from March, Cambridgeshire, appeared on our screens in new channel 4 show Bride and Prejudice.
The first episode which aired on Tuesday night revealed how the couple were planning to tie the knot but were still seeking the approval of Rob's mum and dad who were struggling with their son's sexuality.
[Rob said he felt 'awful' knowing that his parents were embarrassed]
Rob said he felt 'awful' knowing that his parents were embarrassed
about his relationship.

"Never did we think they would get married, we always thought they would just be a couple of gays," they're heard saying.
Speaking to the camera, Rob's father, Steve admitted he was "embarrassed" by his son's sexuality and was 'dreading' the wedding day, The Daily Mail reports.
When confronted about their hesitation to be involved, his mum Linda told him they were used to "normal weddings."
Naturally viewers rushed to social media to defend the pair, following his parents tough-to-hear remarks.
DJ Villian tweeted: "If you're going to put your opinion before your child's happiness over their partner's gender, race, religion or even age as consenting adults then you've no business being a parent."
Janine Sarah tweeted: "According to this elderly couple you are only gay if you walk around with a limp hand. What a pair of c****."
Katie Crisp said: "this guy's parents are shocking, their son loves another person enough to want to marry him and that's all that matters."
Previously Rob has been married to and raised children with a woman before meeting Simon.
His parent's had a very hands on role in planning his first wedding but this time around it was a very different story reports the Daily Mail.
Steve added: "I must admit I have never spoken to anyone about it, I feel sort of embarrassed to talk about it.
'It's not like going around saying I've won the lottery. I am absolutely dreading the point where the minister says you may now kiss the groom, the bride, the what?'

[Steve and Linda were branded homophobic by viewers]
Some viewers pointed out that Steve and Linda might not be alone in their opinions.
One person tweeted: "As a mother who would understand, support and accept any choices my children make. For most of these particular cases, I still understand how difficult it is for them to come to terms with. They are people of a different generation."
Another said: "Before everyone starts slating Rob's parents how about wait for other episodes to find out what actually happens?"
After he divorced, Rob came out to his mum, who kept it secret from dad, Steve for fear of upsetting him.
Steve revealed on the show he felt "horrified".
He said: "If he was a genuine gay you'd notice it from a really early age I think, the mannerisms."
Linda agreed saying gay men have limp hands and "walk in a different way to straight men."
RaynaIee was mortified by their comments tweeting: "a genuine gay" for f*** sake, can I punch them. Stereotypical and disgusting."  Other comments which were hard to swallow included his parents asking the couple 'not to snog at the alter in front of his grandmother because she would find it disgusting.'
Rob said: "I think they're embarrassed to have a gay son, it makes me feel awful knowing that they're embarrassed of me. I just want my parents to be proud of me, proud of who I am.
"The choice that I've made, it's a big thing going from being a straight man to a gay man and I did it with pride, [I] didn't hide the fact."
