CNN apologizes for using song “Stupid Girls” to introduce Sarah Palin
Palin ’s support of Chick-fil-A
Judging from the slew of comments I’ve been getting on Facebook, there are a lot of people who don’t want me to post about the likes ofSarah Palin or Rick Santorum etc.
My policy is that if they say something newsworthy that has to do with LGBT issues like marriage equality, I’m going to write about it. For those it bothers, simply keep scrolling and I’m sure there will something more palatable for you!
Anyway, that’s a long-winded intro but I wanted to remind people that it does no one any good to only report on things we want to hear.
Either way, you will probably want to hear about this: CNN had some explaining to do earlier today for using of the Pink song Stupid Girls to introduce a segment on Palin’s wading into the Chick-fil-A debate. She very publicly had lunch at one of the chain’s restaurants to make the point that she supports them despite their stance against gay marriage and donation of millions of dollars to anti-gay organizations.
CNN says any implication that it was calling Palin stupid was unintentional and not meant as a commentary on the former Republican vice presidential candidate.
“The music selection was a poor choice and was not intended to be linked to any news story,” CNN said in a statement. “We regret any perception that they were planned together.”
Heh heh.
You gotta figure someone’s head is gonna roll over this one!
