Whitney Houston Found Laying Face Down in Tub
On the day she died,Whitney Houstoncomplained of a sore throat, so she decided to take a bath in at her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton before getting ready for a pre-Grammy party.
The singer's assistant left Houston to run an errand at Nieman Marcus. When the assistant returned to the singer's room around 3:35 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 11, Houston was lying face down in the bathtub in approximately 13-inches of water, according to an autopsy report released Wednesday.
The singer was pulled out of the tub by her assistant and bodyguard. When police who arrived on the scene, they found multiple bottles of prescription medication and some loose pills scattered around the room.
In the bathroom was an astray filled with multiple cigarette butts and "a small spoon with a white crystal like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper," according to the report.
It was announced last month that Houston died of an accidental drowningheart disease and cocaine use. She also had marijuana, Xanax, Benadryl and other medication in her system.
"I collected remnants of a white powdery substance from out of a drawer and from the bottom of a mirror in the same drawer," reads the report.
Houston was found to have two superficial abrasions on the left side if her forehead and a superficial abrasion on the bridge of her nose, as well as several other small abrasions on her body.
Houston was laid to rest in New Jersey on Feb. 19.
