Meet Mr. Gay Hong Kong

Mr Gay World 2012 will be held on April 4 – 8, 2012 at Johannesburg, South Africa. There are a total of 25 delegates from all over the world to compete for the title this year. Among Asia, Hong Kong and the Philippines are the only countries with contestants. There is, of course, a delegate from the United States. It isn’t easy to be crowned Mr Gay World 2012. The judges are looking for both physical and inner beauty, including poise, elegance, charisma, LGBT human rights awareness, leadership, vision and eloquence. The delegates will be judged according to the following specifics:
- Written LGBT rights & history test (5% of total score)
- Sports challenge (10% of total score)
- Community outreach and engagement in South Africa (5% of total score)
- Photo shoot (10% of total score)
- Panel interview (30% of total score)
- Grand finale swim suit (20% of total score)
- Formal wear judging poise & elegance (10% of total score)
- National costume (5% of total score)
- Administration points, e.g. how well the delegates respond to email request prior to the competition as well as how well they listen to instructions during the competition (5% of total score)
- Sports challenge (10% of total score)
- Community outreach and engagement in South Africa (5% of total score)
