BYU Suspends Basketball Player For Having sex With His Girrrlfriend

How ready is BYU to persecute people who don’t follow the Mormon doctrine? Scarily so. The school this week suspended one of its star players, Brandon Davies, for having premarital sex with his girlfriend. The team was ranked No. 3 in the country, having lost only two games this season; But in their first game without Davies last night they lost at home to a 19-11 New Mexico team, 82-64. Interestingly, Davies was one of only three Black players on the team.

If the school was willing to suspend its top-ranked basketball team’s leading rebounder and No. 3 scorer for having sex with his girlfriend,what would they do to a gay student? The students would be lucky if they were only kicked out of the school. Luckily it looks like we won’t have to see much of the Davies-less basketball team as they’ll now be an early exit from the NCAA tournament.
