Big Fan UPROAR Over 'GLEE" Vanity Fair Review

There is no doubt that the March 8 episode of "Glee," which aired on Channel 10 in Tempe, is one of the most controversial episodes of the series to date. With the uproar over the Gwyneth Paltrow performance that used a Gary Glitter song, the episode was already getting notice from the entertainment world. However, there is more to be upset about. Fans are steaming mad over a review of the episode that appeared in Vanity Fair.
The uproar hit the net immediately after the review of one of the songs used in the episode read as followed (listen here), according to Rickey.org:
“Animal” (Neon Trees) *** Nice singing. But how can having girls in the audience make these cartwheeling, foam-party fags straight-sexy?
Yes, the uproar is because of the use of the word 'fags' in the review. Fans immediately noticed the word choice and started a commotion. Was the word choice out of line? Was it even needed? Yes, the two characters that performed the song on the series are gay, but that doesn't make their performance any different, does it?
The episode has definitely earned some notice though, and "Glee" seems to cause trouble even when it doesn't mean to. This most recent episode is just another instance of that.
Watch "Glee" on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. on Channel 10 in Tempe. What do you think of the review's word choice and the fan response to it?
