Glee's Will Also Be appealing To Male Viewers Of The Super Bowl

Season 1 cast of Glee
Glee's executive producers Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk have suggested that the upcoming Super Bowl episode will appeal to male viewers.

The opening number features the Cheerios dancing around in bikini tops and cheerleader outfits to the Katy Perry track 'California Gurls' while BMX riders perform tricks.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Brennan and Falchuk explained that they want to keep male viewers who will have been watching the Super Bowl.

"We put stuff in there understanding that there are a lot of dudes who watch the Super Bowl," Falchuk explained. "It was making sure that the dudes who refuse to watch Glee are like, 'Wait a second!'"

Meanwhile, Brennan said: "I think our opening number is going to retain a lot of male viewers."

The Super Bowl episode of Glee airs in the US on February 6 on Fox. The show continues in the UK on Mondays at 9pm on E4.
