Mike O'Malley denies 'Glee' departure

Mike O'Malley has dismissed rumors that he is due to be axed from Glee.

The future of the 44-year-old's character Burt Hummel has been greatly speculated upon following O'Malley's casting in the lead role of Fox pilot Family Album.

Speaking to Shock Ya, O'Malley assured fans that he was guaranteed a place in the musical comedy's next run.

He joked: "I hope Burt Hummel doesn’t have another heart attack and die because as part of my deal, I’m guaranteed six episodes of Glee next season."

O'Malley also teased details of a forthcoming storyline focusing on his character's relationship with son Kurt.

"My upcoming scenes are with Kurt, and it’s some really great stuff. It’s the further stage of evolution of Burt needing to accept his son as who he is."
