WEST PALM BEACH—
Former WPTV-Ch. 5 weatherman Rob Lopicola is looking at a June trial date on accusations that he engaged in unlawful sexual activity with boys he met on Craigslist.
Lopicola, 42, allegedly performed sex acts on two boys he met separately in 2010 -- a 15-year-old who lived inBoca Raton at the time and a 17-year-old from West Palm Beach.
Lopicola and the boys traded graphic text messages and photos, according to police reports.
According to transcripts of text messages, Lopicola asked the 15-year-old boy to call him "Dad," encouraged sex without condoms and asked if he could share the boy with his older friends.
Lopicola's next court date is scheduled for June 14 with a trial scheduled for the week of June 24, according to an official with the Palm Beach State Attorney's Office.
Lopicola left WPTV abruptly in 2006 after eight years with the station.
