Sandra Bernhard Rips Kathy Griffin's Comedic Skills
Uh-oh. Sandra Bernhard hates Kathy Griffin.
Then again, I'm quite certain Griffin doesn't care ... and may even use Bernhard's slam against her as fodder for her next stand-up special.
I don't think Griffin wins a lot of fans from the celebs that she so often rips on, but Bernhard, as a fellow comedian, has something to say about it.
Before you question, "Bernhard who?," let me tip you off that she has so completely fallen off the relevancy radar, I'm not even sure her opinion of Griffin holds much klout.
Bernhard is (was?) a trash-talking comedian in the 80s and 90s who also appeared on shows such as Roseanne and in movies, most notably Hudson Hawk. She was also once a BFF of Madonna's, although it seems that relationship has fallen by the wayside.
Bernhard said on the HDNet talk show "Naughty But Nice with Rob," "I've never been a fan of Kathy Griffin -- you know that. Every time she sees me, she hides. If I saw her, I would tell her to find a new angle. Just to say someone is stupid, that's not crafting an idea. I think things through. I absorb culture and put it out in layers."
She must have been pretty busy absorbing culture over the past several years, because I don't see her with a new comedy special or standing beside Anderson Cooper on New Year's Eve.
Just sayin’.
Anyone else not in love with either of them? Griffin has had a few comedy gems in her repertoire, but overall, I find her annoying. Bernhard, I had all but forgotten about.
