{LifeCycleRide} Randy Phillips ExAirman Gives Back to End AIDS

During the time of "don’t ask, don’t tell," Airman Randy Phillips maintained an anonymous video blog on YouTube chronicling his experiences as a gay man in the military. Then when DADT was repealed, Phillips finally revealed himself to his audience by taping hiscoming out phone call to his father and posting it on the site. The video instantly went viral and soon many Americans had heard and seen his story.
Now Phillips is using his heightened platform to give back to the community. He's participating in this year’sAIDS/LifeCycle ride, a 7-day bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles benefiting the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center. Last year 2,350 bicyclists and 600 volunteer “roadies” took the 545-mile journey and raised a record $13,060,000 for the HIV/AIDS services.
Phillips has set a goal of raising $10,000 and is asking for help. Check out the video below, where he explains how an email exchange with filmmaker Ryan James Yezak—whose video The Gay Rights Movement went viral last week— led to Phillips signing up. Once you've watched, you can go to Phillip's sponsorship page to help.
