I’m sure there’s been a time when you’ve been hanging out with one of your heterosexual mates, and a word such as “top” has rolled casually from your lips, leading to a brief moment when your mate has a confused look on his face.

What often follows is that awkward moment when you’re explaining what a top is and then before you know it you’re also having to explain the words “bottom” and “verse.” Some might say we have a language all of our own!

For quite a few of us, the definitions we use might be second nature, however for those with little knowledge or experience of the gay life, it may sound like we’re talking complete gibberish. Hey it wasn’t until 2012 with the release of the Scissor Sisters’ “Let’s Have a Kiki” that I found out such a word existed.

In the newest video by out YouTube star Davey Wavey, he puts three rather attractive “straight” men in front of the camera and questions them on the meaning of some well-known gay slang terms, with hilarious results.

When one was asked to define the term “Vers” he responded with: “You’re singin’ it to him while you’re givin’ it to him.” I don’t know about you, but that was one of the funniest things I’ve heard all day.
