As the game ended, and the players made their way to the locker room, Leandro Barbosa grabbed the hand of his teammate Reggie Evans as the made their way to the locker room. Even though, Barbosa’s expression remained serious, Evans seemed nonchalant about the whole ordeal and broke out into a smile.
Yet, even that simple expression – whether it was a joke they were playing for the cameras or an actual intimate expression between two grown men (lest we forget that Barbosa not being American, may contribute to his lackadaisical approach towards male intimacy), it has brought out the homophobia prevalent in sports out full force.
The video has made its rounds on Youtube and has been met with nothing short of homophobia at its best. Some of the responses are below – hopefully you can decipher the insults, at times it can be difficult. Some language is NSFW.

Even though, it isn’t certain how anyone with a screen name like: I rock fartz, creamy brown, and Mr. dark stalker could have enough clout to ever bash anyone but evidently they must.
