Jan Brewer Signs Bill to Restrict Gay Adoption in Arizona

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer just signed a bill to restrict gay adoption in the state. It's a sad day for the state, and forces the residents to take another step back. Rather than continue with the 21st century way of life, it seems that Arizona would rather not treat everyone with equal rights.
The bill will primarily require both state and private adoption agencies to give married heterosexual couples preference during adoption procedures.  It could basically create a situation where a couple of the same sex keeps getting pushed down the adoption list, and never has the opportunity to "out-rank" a heterosexual couple that is also trying to adopt.

This is a terrible law to put in place in the state of Arizona, and it only gives further power to those that would seek to discriminate in the first place.  Adoptive parents shouldn't be regulated based on their sexual preference, and this is a huge hurdle for same-sex couples to enter into the adoption process. This appears to be a veiled attempt to do just that, and it will probably succeed in preaching discrimination if this law stays on the books.
Rather than trying to help more children get adopted, Arizona Republican Senator Linda Gray and Gov. Jan Brewer have simply made it harder.

More to come on this issue. Interesting when Brewer signed unconstitutional immigration law so many gays said they liked her. Particularly in my home town. Not understanding when you are a bigot for one class of people you are a bigot to any other class of people that are different, like homosexuals. Now she proves me right, sorry to say. adamfoxie
