Darren Criss has revealed that he is pleased he is a mentor on upcoming reality show The Glee Project.
The series, which will premiere on June 12, will search for a new star to appear in Glee.
The show is being executive produced by Glee's showrunners Ryan Murphy and Dante Di Loreto. Criss, who plays Blaine in Glee, will offer the contestants advice.
"I was so happy that they even asked me in the first place," Criss told Access Hollywood. "These kids are so talented... they make me look like a hack, basically.
"Basically they just let me be there and behold the talent that is those kids, so it's great."
Criss also revealed that he is "excited" about the release of an album comprising tracks sung by Blaine's glee club The Warblers.
"I've been really happy that people have had such a positive response," he said. "I would have never guessed in a million years that that would happen."
Glee returns for a new episode in the US on April 19 at 8/7c on Fox. The show continues in the UK on Mondays at 9pm on E4.
