The ‘Day of Nelson Mandela’

The first black president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela, met and celebrated his 92 years old today, considered now in the world as the ‘Day of Nelson Mandela. “

The symbol of the struggle against racial discrimination, is the first individual to which the UN recognizes for his “contribution to the culture of peace and freedom” and decided to declare July 18th International Day of Nelson Mandela .

Graca Machel, Mandela’s wife, said “this day would be a way for people to demonstrate that everyone has a little Mandela inside.”

She also indicated that “her husband is healthy, but fragile, and will spend his birthday quietly with his family.
