Gay porn star Cal Culver, who performed under the name Casey Donovan,
claims he had a romantic affair with actor Christopher Reeve, UK's

Reeve, who was best known for playing the role of Superman,
died at the age of 52 in 2004.
Culver died in 1987 of an AIDS-related illness at the age of 43.
He starred in the 1971 gay porn film Boys in the Sand, which
turned the male escort into an instant gay icon.
Culver claims he met Reeve auditioning for a role on Broadway
in the mid-1970s as he attempted to cross over into mainstream acting.
The pair had a two-month affair that ended when Reeve learned
that Culver also worked in the porn industry.
“Christopher was a great lover and I think I liberated him sexually,”
Culver wrote in a never-published autobiography. “I didn't think
he was gay but he seemed willing to try anything once. He was curious.”
Porter told the paper that the believed the story to be legitimate.
In 1982, Reeve shared an on-screen kiss with Michael Caine
in the film Deathtrap.
Reeve, who became a quadriplegic in 1995 after a horse riding
accident, died of heart failure.
