GLAAD } Slams ABC Cross Dressing New Comedy -trailer

Of all the idiotic shows pitched this yearWork It has to be among the worst-sounding.
Here’s the premise: two men, down and out in a bad economy, decide to don women’s attire and pose as ladies, in order to get jobs (because it’s so much easier to make it in the workplace as a chick!). They walk all woman-like and puzzle over earrings and do all those madcap lady things that we ladies do. It looks bad. So bad. So bad, in fact, that I’m actively excited for it to premiere on January 3, in a morbid, is-this-really happening, kind of way.

GLAAD, the Human Rights Campaign and other LGBT advocacy groups are fighting to keep the show off the air, according to the Hollywood Reporter. And while Work It seems based on a tidal wave of women’s stereotypes, GLAAD President Mike Thompson told the Reporter that the series is downright damaging to the transgender community:
“Transphobia is still all too prevalent in our society and this show will only contribute to it. It will reinforce the mistaken belief that transgender women are simply ‘men pretending to be women,’ and that their efforts to live their lives authentically as women are a form of lying or deception.”
And, judging from the promo for the show that’s been circling around, we can see his point:
