Russia a Very Dangerous Place No matter What, But Particularly if You Try to Burry Someone

Being Friday I think we need a good real story to put us in the mood for the weekend.

Three Russian fellas in identical black jackets told the following story, a cross between Quentin Tarantino and Emir Kusturica films, on YouTube. It’s hilarious and sounds like a briefing from the Russian Ministry of Deathence.

The man with the snow shovel does all the talking.

“Our village is located near the air defense base. A 75-year-old woman, a babushka, lived along the outskirts of the village. One time a stray bullet directly hit her in the head and she died right on the spot.

“The guys and I volunteered to dig a hole to bury this woman. The fact is that the cemetery is located right next to the military base. There is such a swampy area you need to dig a hole very deep, about three meters.

“The guys and I dug this hole and looked at the bottom, and saw an unexploded land mine. We were scared, but then we thought it was okay, and dropped some earth on top, and the funeral began.”

“When they started lowering her in the coffin, the rope ripped, the coffin broke off and fell right on the land mine.

Look into my honest eyes.

“There was a huge explosion. A blast wave went off and then when everyone came to their senses a little we look into the pit and saw that there is no coffin there and then heard air-raid sirens and towers spinning.

“Everyone was scared - babushka is gone, sirens blaring. And it so happened that the pit was deep, and when the landmine exploded and the pit became like a barrel, babushka flew up sharply upwards.

“The anti-aircraft installation reacted to it as a threat, launched a rocket, and shot it down with an accurate hit.

“So that's all it was.”

A babushka was hit with a stray bullet, blown up by a land mine, and shot out of the sky with a missile - and she just went out to stock up on water from a water pump.
