Fl., Gov.DeSantis Revokes License to a bar After having a Drag Queen Venue
The answer of a reader about DeSantis, Gov of Fl.
I think it’s really, really scary.
No governor should have the power to single-handedly force businesses, schools and other organizations to adhere to his personal values.
Yet he will only deal with banks who agree with his ideology, even though Florida voters end up paying millions and millions of dollars in the form of higher interest rates on bonds because he’s cut some of the biggest banks out of the bidding process.
Now he’s threatening to drop the SATs and all Advanced Placement courses in the state in order to bend the College Board to his will. That may poll well among the MAGAts, but it’s going to limit the out-of-state school's Floridian students qualify for, and lower the quality of applicants to Florida colleges.
And don’t get me started on how he’s creating a $1 billion tax bill for Floridians by ending the special relationship with Disney.
It’s one thing to believe Disney shouldn’t be in the business of running towns and passing legislation to change long-standing agreements. But this isn’t about that. It’s about Ron still being pissed about Disney speaking out against his Don’t Say Gay bill.
This isn’t democracy. It’s a petty dictatorship.
