Controversial X Factor contestant Christopher Maloney has 'come out', revealing he is gay.
Maloney told Wootton that he has had a serious boyfriend for over three years and added to the magazine: 'No one asked. I didn't speak about my love life because I didn't want my partner to be dragged through this.
The wannabe singer opened up about his sexuality to this week's Now magazine for the first time.
He told showbiz journalist Dan Wootton: 'Do you know what, I'm going to admit it - yeah.
'Honestly, I've never denied it or anything like that.
'It's just that with the show it was always an inappropriate time or people just asked inappropriate questions.’

'It wasn't to gain votes or anything like that.'
And he's already received a positive response from a fellow homosexual star from last year's X Factor series, Rylan Clark.
The Celebrity Big Brother winner wrote on Twitter: 'Proud of @ChrisMaloney77 xxx.’
His future on The X Factor tour was thought to be in jeopardy as a result but was soon seen turning up to rehearsals.
Maloney has since revealed to Now magazine that he was going through 'a breakdown' as a result of the pressures from The X Factor.
He has previously spoken about sick death threats he's received since his time on the program.
