CHER Coming to LOGO

Logo, the LGBT-focused cable TV channel owned by Viacom, is in a development deal with Cher to produce a new series about 1960s Hollywood, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Logo announced the project yesterday at the Television Critics Association press tour. Terms of the deal were not revealed, but a Logo official said Cher is collaborating with comedian Ron Zimmerman to create a pilot script. Zimmerman, who’s been romantically linked to Cher in recent years, includes “Shake It Up!” and “‘Til Death” among his recent TV writing credits.
“We read some of the stuff that Cher and Ron had written and it was really terrific," Logo senior vp of original programming Brent Zacky told The Hollwyood Reporter. “We came up with an idea set in Hollywood in the early ’60s and we're very excited to see how we get through the process. The deal is brand-new and we're just getting started on the project. …We’re certainly excited to be in business with an icon like Cher and Ron, who is a terrific writer.”
Zacky said it was yet to be decided if Cher would have an on-camera role in the project.
Forty years ago, “The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour” premiered on CBS and became a huge hit for the network. The show ended when Sonny and Cher divorced.
