James Franco, What a Drag

In view of the increasing interest on James Franco, adamfoxie* is reposting this story, which originally appeared at *Daily Mail/uk and then picked up by adamfoxie*  Repost is a word I hate, but in this case an exception is made. After all,  no one deserves it more than Franco.

James Franco is arguably one of the most famous young actors in Hollywood today, having taken on roles in films including Spiderman and Milk.
But the 32-year-old actor is entirely unrecognisable in his latest role - posing in full drag for transvestism magazine Candy.
Franco is seen wearing heavy eyeshadow and lipstick as he is shot in dresses as well as T-shirts and jeans for the pictures taken by renowned photographer Terry Richardson.

The shots, which feature in the Fall/Winter edition of the new magazine, come just weeks after Franco came forward to shoot down rumours about his sexuality.
Thanks to the roles he has chosen during his career, including playing Sean Penn's lover in Milk, Franco has found himself the centre of speculation about whether he is gay or not.
However, after insisting 'I'm not gay', Franco admitted he prefers starring in homosexual love stories because they are 'more interesting'.

He told Advocate magazine earlier this month: 'In this history of cinema, there are so many heterosexual love stories. It’s so hammered, so done.

'It’s just not that interesting to me. It’s more interesting to me to play roles and relationships that haven’t been portrayed as often.'
Franco's next role is Danny Boyle's 127 Hours, which tells the story of climber Aron Ralston, who was forced to hack off his own arm with a penknife after it became trapped under a rock, leaving him stranded in a Utah canyon for five days with little food and water.
And while some people who watched the film in the screening stages have been fainting at the sheer gore of the arm scene, Franco insists it was a level of horror that was needed for the movie.
He said: 'We made this film in a particular way, it's not a horror movie like The Exorcist or Saw where the point is to gross people out, but we felt we needed to respect Aron's story.
'When Aron amputated his own arm it took over 40 minutes, our scene is a few minutes.
'If we cut it back any more to make it more palatable it would have short-changed Aron's story.'
