Jim Carrey, Star Of 'I Love You Phillip Morris,' Says Gay Bullies Are Not His Friends

Jim Carrey is speaking out against gay bullies.
The 48-year-old actor stars opposite Ewan McGregor in the upcoming
 gay-themed film I Love You Phillip Morrisslated for release in the 
In the film, Carrey plays Steven Russell, a gay man who falls in love
 with his cellmate Phillip Morris, played by McGregor. (A trailer of the

When asked to comment on the recent rash of gay teens bullied to death,
 Carrey responded that bullies are not his friends.
“Anybody who bullies anybody for any reason is no friend of mine,” 
“This is a horrible thing to be bullied, and to feel like an outcast is a
 terrible thing.”
Carrey went on to say he used “little tricks” to make himself popular
 in school.
“Some of the most valuable people in my life are gay,” he added.
 “People that bring magical, amazing gifts and contributions to my life.
 I would say to kids out there when they're engaging in these kinds of
 isolations of people, someday you're going to want those people in
 our life. You're going to need those people in your life, and you're 
not going to want that on your conscience.”
