Chile: LGBT group discusses human rights in Catholic school

  

Students, teachers, parents and guardians attended the talk, where the movement of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) gave copies of the manual "Educating for Diversity, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in the classroom."

The Movement for Homosexual Integration and Liberation (MOVILH) spoke about the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) in the Catholic Liceo San Pedro Poveda, where the group gave copies of the manual "Educating for Diversity, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in the Classroom. The talk was aimed at students, teachers, mothers, fathers and guardians who have internalized the Lyceum on the scope of sexual orientation and gender identity and ways of operating the homophobic or transphobic bullying in schools.

Similarly, the Movilh spoke about estretegias and mechanisms to address abuses against those who are identified as LGBT and legal status, current social and legal sexual minorities in Chile.

"The speech caused particular concern among participants, which left us very motivated. We greatly value the high school opened this topic and get involved in discussions with the entire educational community, "said Movilh stating that its interventions in educational institutions have this year with the grant of Extremadura Agency for International Cooperation Development (AEXCID) and the collaboration of Triangle Foundation.

Movilh participation in high school in San Pedro Poveda was part of a conference on racial discrimination organized by students, who decided to extend the discussion to sexual diversity, extending an invitation to Movilh.
