In a blunt rotation straight from hell, Mark Zuckerberg recently appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience and said that society, and the corporate world, have been “neutered”.
The Meta CEO guested on the January 10 episode of the podcast, and told Rogan that he thought “a lot of the corporate world is pretty culturally neutered.” After saying that masculine energy “is good,” Zuckerberg then claimed, “I think corporate culture was really trying to get away from it.”
“All of these forms of energy are good, and I think having a culture that celebrates the aggression a bit more has its own merits that are really positive,” he continued, adding, “Having a thing that I can just do with my guy friends and we just beat each other a bit. It’s good.”
When Rogan asked Zuckerberg about when this shift occurred, since he said corporate culture used to be “hyper aggressive,” the CEO backpedaled and said that “the intent on all these things is good.”
“If you’re a woman going into a company, it probably feels like it’s too masculine,” he said. “There isn’t enough of the energy that you may naturally have. You want women to be able to succeed and have companies that can unlock all the value from having great people no matter what their background or gender.”
“I just think we kind of swung culturally to that part of the spectrum where it’s all like, ‘Masculinity is toxic. We have to get rid of it completely,’” Zuckerberg said. “It’s like, no. Both of these things are good. You want feminine energy. You want masculine energy. You’re gonna have parts of society that have more of one or the other. I think that that’s all good. But I do think the corporate culture had swung toward being this somewhat more neutered thing.” And it’s not just the corporate world. The CEO also said that society “has become very, like, neutered, or emasculated.”

“Trans People Are Freaks.” Meta Leaks Reveal Specific Anti-LGBTQ+ Content the Company Now Allows.
This week alone Meta has announced changes that allow users to target trans people and deleted trans and nonbinary messaging themes.
Not sure if Zuckerberg is experiencing the same corporate America as the rest of us, but a September 2024 report on the state of women in corporate environments found that 40% of working women have experienced sexual harassment in their careers. The report also found that only four in 10 men under 30 support prioritizing gender and racial diversity, compared to half of young men in 2019.
But none of this should necessarily be surprising from Zuckerberg, who recently announced a policy change that significantly loosened the restrictions on what is considered hate speech on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. Several tech news outlets also obtained training materials for moderators based on the new rules, and found specific examples of speech that is now allowed under the policy change, including “Trans people are freaks” and “There’s no such thing as trans children.” According to the New York Times, facility managers at Meta’s offices in Silicon Valley, Texas, and New York were also reportedly ordered to remove tampons from men’s bathrooms.
