Peter Brian Hegseth (/ˈhɛɡsɛθ/; born June 6, 1980) is an American television presenter, author, and former Army National Guard officer. President-elect  Donald Trump has announced his intention to nominate Hegseth to serve as United States secretary of defense in his second cabinet.

A political commentator for Fox News since 2014 and weekend co-host of Fox & Friends from 2017 to 2024, he was previously the executive director of Vets for Freedom and Concerned Veterans for America.

Hegseth has been active in conservative and Republican politics since his undergraduate days at Princeton University. As a national guardsman, he served at GuantĂ¡namo Bay and in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2016, he emerged as a supporter of Donald Trump's presidential candidacy, and he served as an occasional advisor to Trump throughout the latter's first term as president. Following Hegseth's encouragement, Trump pardoned three soldiers accused or convicted of war crimes in 2019. Hegseth was considered to lead the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in the first Trump administration, but David Shulkin was tapped instead. Hegseth has written books including American Crusade (2020) and The War on Warriors (2024).

On November 12, 2024, Trump said Hegseth would be his nominee for United States secretary of defense.

I guess Pete Hegseth does not know what most TV watchers know. We even had and still have a show name JAG: Judge Advocate General but no one remembers the name of the words, what he was ask was what is. a JAG: Judge Advocate General. The officers at JAG deal with all situations of investigating anything to do with a military person.

People know what it means because the public cares about the military. However if you are a talking head that takes words or sentences and converts them in something against others. JAG is not a word he cares about because he talks about letting criminals of the Jan 6 insurrection out of jail. No he would not know what all soldiers know. But wait a minute, wasn't he an officer in the service. Yes he was. Im going to give you what the Wikepedia says about him. But coming back to the word JAG, he knew what it was but would admit he had forgotten because he is. a talking head and talking heads don't care much about the real story but the story that supports their point of view. As a person which has had a lot of problems with the drinking, one of the most singular effects of drinking is a lack of memory.  Hope he won't forget the convination to his office, it won't look good.
