Gay People Should be Up in arms Over Kardashian's Wed/Divorce Game
Dr Drew tells it like he sees it and he took off the gloves when discussing the divorce of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. The HNL talk show host penned an article on Tuesday that blamed America for buying into a doomed situation and was understandably upset that Kim Kardashian cheapened the institution of marriage. The good doctor also took a well-deserved swipe at Kris Humphries calling him naive.
Knowing a thing or two about marriage as he has been married for years, Dr Drew is angered. As he so readilypoints out, same sex couples have been fighting for rights to have a simple marriage and a reality star not only had a million dollar marriage, but didn’t appreciate it enough to work on it so it could be successful and after 72 days trashed it.
“I really think this is disheartening and maybe infuriating to gay people that are fighting desperately for this right, and here, somebody is profiteering,” said Dr Drew. “It’s making a sham out of something that should be taken more seriously.”
Getting very pointed, Dr. Drew actually questioned whether or not this was a casting call by E! television. Frankly, many people in the entertainment business have questioned this privately as there were so many rumors, but stepping up and asking the question has really made fans angered.
“Was this a casting call? That to me is disgusting. I think Humphries believed in marriage - but not the fairy tale we had to see on TV,” writes Dr. Drew. “I don't think he was happy with the cameras or any of this.”
The Kardashian brand has always brought in a certain level of questioning when it comes to real verses entertainment. Reality television skews the line of truth in so many ways, but using a marriage to make money, like Dr Drew asserted, isn’t cool. With so many people not having this simple right, marriage should be taken seriously and should come prior to the almighty buck.
