John Travolta Gay Outing 'Uncool'; Andy Cohen Chides Carrie Fisher
Andy Cohen, the openly gay vice president of original programming
and development of bisexual cabler Bravo, has chided Carrie Fisher
for outing John Travolta as gay.
Cohen made his remarks during an appearance HLN's The Joy Behar
Show.
In a December 10 interview with gay glossy The Advocate, Fisher was
bluntly asked about Travolta's alleged gay dalliances.
The interview made reference to Travolta's lawyer threatening to sue
Gawker.com for publishing claims made by Robert Randolph in his
self-published memoir You'll Never Spa In This Town Again. The
“I know you and Travolta go way back, so let's get really blunt here:
Does his legal team have any business demanding Gawker remove
a recent post suggesting that he's given blow jobs?” Brandon Voss
asked.
“Wow!” Fisher replied. “I mean, my feeling about John has always been
that we know and we don't care. Look, I'm sorry that he's uncomfortable
with it, and that's all I can say. It only draws more attention to it when
you make that kind of legal fuss. Just leave it be.”
“I love Carrie Fisher,” Cohen said on the show. “I think she's great.
She's so smart and funny, but I thought that was kinda uncool.”
Behar agreed, saying, “It's outing someone – if it's true or not true.”
