Cuomo Says He’ll Legalize Gay Marriage
On Thursday, Andrew Cuomo, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate in New York stated that he will legalize same-sex marriage in the state if elected.
As reported on the New York Daily NewsCuomo stated:
“I don’t want to be the governor who just proposes marriage equality. I don’t want to be the governor who lobbies for marriage equality. I don’t want to be the governor who fights for marriage equality. I want to be the governor who signs the law that makes equality a reality in the state of New York.”
A previous attempt to legalize same-sex marriage in New York died in the state’s Senate last year after it passed in the Assembly.
