Glee’s Rocky Horror Picture Show Special
October 28, 2010
I like most of the sane and clever people of America sat down to watch TV at 8pm eastern time last night for what promised to be one of the key TV moments of the year! Disappointed, I wasn’t! I am of course talking of the special Rocky Horror Picture Show Special from the Glee team, which was getting some heavy media attention and hype. I was a little worried that the actual show wouldn’t match up to the hype and the levitation level of anticipation, so loud was the buzz about the show!
It was good, very good, loved the way they put in the whole ‘Glee’ feel to what could have been a very sexually provocative performance of a cult classic that really rocks the house down, no matter where and when it’s played. There was a danger of it being over sexualised for a prime time family audience, luckily it wasn’t.
Yep McKinley High School put it’s spin on things and to be honest a rather surprising amount of male flesh was on show, welcome yes, surprising errm yes! There was the gold hot pants scene, which the media seemed to be churning over and over and over again, was in fact a very brief tiny part of the show, yes Chord thingy is cute and sweet and just the wrong side of thick to be adorable, but it was Mr Shu that really surprised with his hunky near nakedness! Man that guy is hot, hot HOT!
Special mention must go to Chris Colfer, for his amazingly great Riff Raff portrayal, stunning and beyond words. I love that guy, he’s such a dream, such a talent and nice voice too! Oh and legendary Meatloaf was on fine form too, sadly not singing, but great to see him on the screen with all these youngsters!
I can feel a whole new legion of Rocky Horror fans forming as a result of this show, ”It’s just a jump to the left, and then a step to the right!!
