RUSSIA AND UKRAINE AT WAR

Flows of Russian gas to Europe through a transit point in Ukraine dried up, while Kyiv reported battlefield gains over invading Russian forces that could signal a shift in the war's momentum.

Ukraine has remained a major route for Russian gas to Europe even since the February 24 invasion, which President Vladimir Putin calls a "special military operation".

Reuters photographer Jorge Silva visited a Ukrainian hospital where medics work as rockets fall. See his photo essay here.

Russia was behind a massive cyberattack against a satellite internet network that took tens of thousands of modems offline at the onset of the war, the United States, Britain, Canada, Estonia, and the European Union said. The digital assault against Viasat's KA-SAT network took place just as Russian armor pushed into Ukraine.

Russian diplomat Sergiy Andreev was feeling unwelcome on the streets of Warsaw even before protesters doused him with red liquid thrown in his face at the short range this week. Across Europe's capitals, Russian diplomats are getting the cold shoulder, ranging from diplomatic expulsions by governments, to protests by individual citizens, and service denials by companies.

WORLD (by Adam Gonzalez)) In the Philippines, Going back 45 Years to learn who the Marcus are. They all come in through the front door and rob you and kill your sons making them serve to defend them not you. Why do you bring them back? Don't you have a dog catcher or butcher or better yet a good school teacher?? You need to go through again through misery because you have not learned. I am so sorry for you.

Ferdinand Marcos Jr. went to the grave of his father, the disgraced Philippines dictator, the day after winning the presidential election, a visit that underscores the polarization over the return to rule of the notorious political dynasty. We look at how a Marcos presidency is a boon for China, but awkward for the U.S.. The Ferdinand Marcus Family ruled The Philippines with an iron hand. They were the poorest of any nation except maybe Haiti. So of course He held elections when he got pressure from the US but there was no one alive to run against him. Marcus Killed his opponent like Putin has done. Until Mr. Aquino, a senator ran and won while in the US hiding because Marcus wanted to put him in jail. No reason like Putin does. Well upon the good news he came back and it seems the whole country made up of Islands was there. Including the hired assassin. He killed him. But the Philippines felt cheated and would have burned Marcus and his guards if they could. The US gave him asylum to avoid killing which was a mistake because then Got in trouble because he was not wanted anywhere. He was also sick with cancer but he had a family including his wife that was liking their chops to come back and take over f possible. They have also taken off with the money which belongs to the Republic. They were very rich but they didn't work. She shopped all over the world at the finest stores, particularly for the most expensive perfumes and shoes which she would only wear once, but would not donate. She wanted them in a museum after she dies because she thought in her own little min they were royalty. That's how they lived while the average philippino could not even buy a fan to cool his bedroom to be able to sleep. They have been stuck with an ignorant policeman as the president who is killing or jailing anyone he suspects of having drugs unless he gets paid. The Phillippines prospered a bit but it is very poor. Who's fault is it? You live with the people you elect to take your tax money and not for themselves but to improve the country's economy and make the people that work hard have a better way of life instead of selling themselves to rich nations to become slaves on a contract of a few years.

China hit back against what it called "irresponsible" comments by the head of the World Health Organization, who described the country's uncompromising and increasingly painful "zero COVID" policy as "not sustainable". The policy has placed hundreds of millions of people across dozens of cities under various degrees of movement restrictions.

Britain rejected European Union proposals to resolve a standoff over post-Brexit trade rules for Northern Ireland, saying it would not shy away from taking direct action in the latest escalation between the two sides. Striking a deal that preserved the peace, protected the EU's single market and avoided new borders on the island of Ireland and with Britain was always the biggest challenge for London as it embarked on its historic departure from the bloc.
