Million Mothers Want "Archie Married” Out of Toy R Us

One Million Moms Wants Gay Marriage Archie Comic Removed from Toys ‘R’ Us

After failing to get Ellen Degeneres fired from being a spokesperson for JC Penny, hate group-affiliated One Million Moms has found another campaign target: getting an edition of Archie Comics featuring a same-sex couple marrying out of Toys ‘R’ Us stores.
One Million Moms is all a dither that the January edition of the long running comic features gay character Kevin Keller, who first appeared two years ago, getting wed to his African American boyfriend, Clay Walker. Apparently, the Moms don’t want their kids to see said cover and start asking questions.
The Moms have drafted a handy sample letter to send to Toys ‘R’ Us to ask them to yank the comic as a matter of top priority. Let’s take a look:
“As a mother and a member of OneMillionMoms.com, I am extremely disappointed to learn that select Toys ‘R’ Us stores are now selling ‘Archie’ comic books with a same-sex wedding displayed on the front cover.”
Apparently there’s so much same-sex wedding activity in comic books these days they have to clarify:
“I am referring to the ones where the front cover reads “Just Married” with two men marrying, one wearing a service uniform.”
One Million Moms seems particularly offended that Toys ‘R’ Us aren’t even trying to hide the comics:
“I am aware that Toys ‘R’ Us employees do not actually set up the displays; they leave this up to the vendor. Your company should be aware of the merchandise being sold in your stores nonetheless. These comic books are displayed at the front checkout counters so they are highly visible to employees, managers, customers and children.”
Remember the children? It’s all about the children:
Unfortunately, children are now being exposed to same-sex marriage in your toy store.
Unless Toys ‘R’ Us has employed someone to pick up the comic and rub it in kids faces as they enter the store, one would think quietly steering the child away from something you don’t want them to see would be enough. Alas, no.
One Millions Moms elaborates:
This is the last place a parent would expect to be confronted with questions from their children on topics that are too complicated for them to understand.
Really? Too complicated for children to understand? Children that are able to get their heads round, say, robot extra-terrestrials that transform into cars as in Transformers or, to go even younger, the frankly disturbing and psychedelic Yo Gabba Gabba? Oh no, it’s a man marrying another man that’s going to blow little Timmy’s mind, I’m sure.
The Moms say yes, and add:
Issues of this nature are being introduced too early and too soon, which is becoming extremely common and unnecessary.
I’m going to take a wild guess and say that they don’t have any evidence to back up the “too early and too soon” claim.
Onward:
“A trip to the toy store turns into a premature discussion on sexual orientation and is completely uncalled for. Toys ‘R’ Us should be more responsible in the products they carry.”
It’s getting so that the One Million Moms can’t go out at all without the homosexual agenda being there, being depicted all normal in comic books and having their rights recognized at both the state and federal level. And did One Million Moms mention it’s all about the children?
They plead:
“Please remove all the same-sex “Just Married – Archie” comic books immediately from your shelves. My decision to shop in your stores depends on it.
I look forward to hearing from you regarding my concern.”
Will Toys ‘R’ Us be shaking in their boots knowing that One Million Moms (read: about five moms with a computer) won’t be shopping at their stores? I don’t know, but it doesn’t hurt to let Toys ‘R’ Us know we support their decision to stock this particular comic book.
