Ex-Republican Congressional candidate denies allegation/ Says rent boy is 'crackpot'

A male escort has claimed a former Congressional candidate paid him $500 for sex and promised to buy him a new car and other gifts.
The unnamed 'rent boy' alleged he met married father-of-two Chris Myers, the suburban mayor of Medford, New Jersey, at a hotel in California.
He said Myers showed him his township identification card and gold ID shield as proof of identity.
But Myers insists he has been set up. He said in his defence: 'I've been down that road before, where a photo has been photoshopped to look like something it wasn't.'

The escort posted pictures on a website that show a man who appears to be Myers in Calvin Klein underpants lying on a bed, as well as other images of him and personal documents.
Myers denied the allegations and branded the escort a 'crackpot.'

He said:'This is absolutely crazy. I have no idea who this person is. Obviously, we’re dealing with a crackpot and someone who is p***** off at me in some way. There are crazy people.'
In 2008, the former Gulf war veteran was defeated by Democrat John Adler when he ran for Congress in the south Jersey district.
The escort told the Burlington County Times that the alleged sexual encounter took place in room 472 at the Fairmount Hotel in Newport Beach in October 2010.
A lurid detailed account of the evening is also included on his own website in which he said Myers hired him after texting his escort line.
The escort claimed: 'He said he liked muscle and was looking forward to playing with me. He also described himself as a bisexual professional man who lives a straight life but likes to indulge in his homosexual desires when he is travelling.
'He told me he was married and had children but he considered himself bisexual and was way more attracted to men than women.
'I asked him if his wife had any idea about this. He said that they rarely if ever have sex and that she really didn’t ask too many questions.
'I asked him where he lived and what he did for a living. He told me that he lived in New Jersey and that he worked for the government.
'I jokingly asked if he was some sort of spy. He laughed and said that he was actually a mayor.'
The escort said that after a sexual act, Myers talked to him about his life and promised to buy him a BMW and fulfill his dream of having a recording studio.
When Myers did not return his calls the escort began showering the Internet with photos - at www.mayormyers.webs.com, which is currently not available on the web.
Myers' wife Tiffany said: 'I’m not the one in politics, and that’s been my policy. I’m here for the family, and not politics. And I also don’t respond to gossip.'
Asked if she had read the stories and seen the pictures of her husband, she said: 'Of course not, It is crap.'
The mother of two middle-grade schoolers added: 'You can imagine: I am the head of the family. I am in charge of my household and my children.'
