Liza Minnelli wasn't there, but it sounds like a fabulous time was had by all anyway.
Sex and the City star Mario Cantone revealed on The View today that he and his partner of 20 years, musical theater director Jerry Dixon, recently tied the knot in New York—where same-sex marriage was legalized in June.
So what inspired Cantone and Dixon to make things official now (besides the whole longtime-coming-recognition-of-their-civil-liberties thing, that is)?

"I got married for the same reasons you did," Cantone told Joy Behar, who swapped vows with her boyfriend of 29 years in August. "We're older now. We've been together 20 years. After 20 years you're like, 'Thanks for the anticlimactic honeymoon, government!'
"I love him," he said of Dixon. "He's a good man."
The 51-year-old comedian said his family was in attendance at the "beautiful" ceremony officiated by Jamie Bakker, the pastor son of late televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker.
For their first Halloween as a married couple, Cantone joked, they're going to stand outside their apartment building "and hand out scones to all the children.”
