18 yr old Detained Over Stuart Walker’s (Gay Bartender)Death
A teenager has been detained by police over the gruesome death of gay man Stuart Walker.
According to The Mirror, Strathclyde Police confirmed the man was taken into custody last night, less than a week after Walker's body was discovered at an industrial estate in Scotland.
A police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that an 18-year-old man is currently detained in connection with this inquiry."
Walker was found dead with "horrible injuries" near Caponacre Industrial Estate, Cumnock, just before 5am, last Saturday.
News reports originally suggested that he was tied to a lamppost before being beaten and set on fire, but police later refuted he had been restrained.
Strathclyde Police believe he may have been attacked because of his sexuality – and may have been sexually assaulted.
The victim, who had been out socialising with friends, was last seen alive near the fire station in Glaisnock Street at about 2:30am.
A memorial page on social networking site Facebook, entitled R.I.P. Stuart Walker, has already attracted thousands of 'likes' from mourners.
